there are actually certain tribes in africa that raise cattle, not for their meat, but for their blood. they use a wooden needle to tap into an artery in the cows neck, hold a bowl under the stream and drink up. they don't eat meat, because raising the cows it too difficult to just kill them, and because blood is indeed, quite nutritious
